Rev. Dr. Jim Antal, the former Massachusetts Conference Minister for the United Church of Christ, and author of the book, Climate Church, Climate World, will be visiting Weston on April 28. There will be a discussion led by Jim that evening from 6:30 to 9:00 at the Congregational Church of Weston UCC, 130 Newton Street, Weston, MA.

We will gather at 6:30 with dessert and time for people to make connections with others concerned about the current trajectory of climate change. We will engage in a conversation with Jim Antal between 7:00pm and 9:00pm.

This discussion will explore some of the ways our shared values, which have evolved over centuries and were taught to us from our childhoods, will have to be rethought and reworked to accommodate a sustainable lifestyle for the future. Change like this is extraordinarily difficult to accomplish, but also absolutely essential. We hope several different “green” committees and organizations will come and participate in this discussion. Jim believes that institutions like churches, whose role it is to help people understand what is fundamentally valuable in their lives and to provide a “safe” context in which difficult conversations can take place, are essential voices in articulating a new climate friendly value system for our communities, state and country.

Please join us; bring your friends; and come prepared to expand your thinking about this very important challenge our world is facing. For more information: 781-899-5417 or office@westonucc.org.
