James Fortune – From the Sweeney Series
Jim Fortune’s Sweeney Series is largely based upon and inspired by Seamus Heaney’s Sweeney Astray, and is a glorious and elegant interpretation of the struggles posed by the juxtaposition of both the cruelties and the beauties of this world, and also the feelings of alienation and confusion when one is confronted by the pressures and expectations to conform to the demands of modernity.
